Day 35
Baking happens with ingredients that comes to life inside
a hot oven. Baking is slow and leisurely. If baking is any labor at all, it is a labor of love. A love that gets passed from generation to generation.
On a cold snowy winters day, bread is
baking in the oven.
That delicious smell warms up your house.
That first slice, spread with butter,
just warms your
cold & frozen
heart & hands.

“Home-made Bread”, there is nothing like it. Buying Bread may be convenient and relatively cheaper but what is it other than carbohydrates laden with preservatives. Can you pronounce the long words found on the ingredients listed on a loaf of purchased bread, do we know what they mean. In part this is because the manufacturer is trying to mass produce a product in a short period of time and make it last as long as possible on the store shelves so their profit increases. On the other hand baking your own bread (and there are thousands of receipts from around the world found on the internet) you tantalize all your senses and one of the most enticing smells found in a home.
