Day 85

Social Distancing #6

Sometimes you just need to get out and go for a walk, or even a drive. All the while making sure that you are keeping 2m/6ft. away from other people.

So with tunes on the radio, enjoying the sunshine I did a wee drive around town. Seeing what the rest of the city is like during Social Distancing and Isolation.  Are the streets busy?  No. Are the side walks busy? No. Are the major box stores like Costco and major grocery stores busy.Yes.
I had no desire to stop anywhere not even at a local nature trail. I kept driving and singing with Garth Brooks then I ended up visiting Mr. PG for a photo session.

  1. You see them everywhere, Mascots, for sports, food, community and business. A mascot is any person, animal or object thought to bring luck, or anything to represent a group, giving it a public identity, thus making a connection with the audience. We commonly see them as a means to merchandise. For the sports minded, I think every professional team has a mascot on the fields or in the wings. In the 1880’s the mascot was a good luck charm used by a baseball team and schools adopted mascots in the 1960s. City mascots provide a sense of community and belonging often representing the heart of the town/city. Mr PG was dreamed up in the 1950’s to promote the forestry industry for the town, the first model was created in 1960, celebrity status was gained 2 years later.
