On Frozen Pond

Day 98

Social Distancing #19

Today's venture out I headed up to The University of Northern British Columbia.
The University was established in 1990 and last year 2019 there were approx. 3570 students attending.
This small research-intensive University ranked number 1 for its size in Canada. In 2019 UNBC was in the top three in its category for 12 straight years. We are very proud that my daughter Kim graduated from UNBC last year.

My main focus was on the David Douglas Botanical Gardens. This garden has an assortment of plants and flowers native to Northern British Columbia. The garden is complete with a bubbling brook and a pond that currently is under ice and snow.

I need to remember to come up here during spring, summer and fall to take some photos of the gardens.

Take Care and I will see you tomorrow!

Ps, UNBC has both!

  1. Putting life in perspective often needs some help from some of the world’s sages, those positive thinkers. Their words can fill us with hope and enable us to rephrase those negative thoughts and attitudes during tough times leaving us refreshed and motivated. “One cannot change the direction of the wind, but one can adjust the sails to reach any destination” (Jimmy Dean). Establishing the right intentions will help you stay positive and optimistic during the challenges thrown at you. Focus on what you can control and let go what is not in your control especially when you are anxious or overwhelmed. Remember that “sometimes you will never know the value of moment, until it becomes a memory” (Dr Seuss). Happiness is not by chance it is by your choice.
