Wild ~ Rose

Day 165

Tonight we are receiving company from "Wild Rose Country". Here in Canada that would mean from the Province of Alberta. The wild rose is the provincial flower for that province.

My daughter and grand daughter are doing a road trip from Calgary AB to Prince George BC for an over due and much needed visit!

The Wild Rose ~after the rain

As we go for our walks through the various parks, the 'Wild Roses' are blooming, they are everywhere! I just love seeing the pretty pink blossoms!

I just love their smell, and as kids we were allowed to pick these roses! We wore them in our hair, pretended to be brides/princesses we would also pick small nosegay bouquet for our mom.

Today, while you are busy doing your Saturday chores, please take time and stop to smell the roses!

Until tomorrow!

  1. Life is not a rehearsal where one can “re-do” parts if a mistake is made, it is an event. Dictionaries define “stop and smell the roses” differently but agree that one needs to put your troubles in perspective, take time out of your schedule and enjoy the event. If you worry about your portfolio to the exclusion of enjoying your surroundings you will have squandered un-recoverable moments. Whether you think of "stopping to smell the roses" as a metaphor, or an actual act, the benefit remains the same; slow down and appreciate the beauty of life and the things that mean the most. It could add years to your life
