2 photos one B&W one Color

Day 41
What do you think of Black and White Photography? I remember when our dad would have the roll of film developed, and we got the chance to see our photographs! It was always a surprise! They told the story of when and where and who! Those photos are treasured items. They tell a story of time and place, before computers, digital cameras and cell phones.

Today, Black and White photos are used in so many different areas..from announcing the birth of the new baby right to weddings and as an Art form.

Here is the color photo.....

Here is the same photo but in Black & White

  1. The first thought that comes to mind is “one cannot see the forest for the trees”. An expression used to describe someone mired in the details rather than the big picture. These are Alders, a soft wood with a straight grain. The wood is used for many things and is relatively inexpensive, however the down side is it is easily marked, dented or scratched. The cones seeds are high in protein but are bitter tasting and supply food for the forest critters over the winter months. The bark can be boiled into a tea as an anti-inflammatory and the wood is the primary product in making the Dutch wooden shoe. We can see the forest, eat it and drink it.
