New

Day 252

September is the start of the new school, college, university year. As adults we sometimes start new ideas, projects, start going to the gym, taking work shops,  find a new job, or travel. Summer is coming to a close and the Fall season will be here.

Soon we will be putting away our summer clothes, flip flops and swimming gear, and out will come those warm sweaters and longer pants.

For me, with the chill in the air, I am think of starting a new project.... a cozy, stylish sweater to wear.

I found this sweater pattern to knit, and I feel fortunate to find the same wool at our local yarn shop Top Drawer.

New

Not only do I love the pattern, I love the feel of this yarn, very soft. I will take a photo when I have this project completed

Until tomorrow

  1. One of the most recognizable uses for wool is clothing. Wool has been used historically to protect and keep us warm. Natural elasticity allows woolen fabric to stretch comfortably around the body then return to its original shape without sagging. Wool regulates the temperature of the wearer by reacting to how hot or cold the wearers body is and it is, breathable, hypoallergenic and has a high level of UV protection, Wool has been used for blankets, horse rugs, saddle cloths, carpeting, insulation and upholstery. Wool felt covers piano hammers, and it is used to absorb odors and noise in heavy machinery and stereo speakers. The wool industry has a remarkably rich heritage with sheep being one of the first domesticated animals.
