Day 289
Today we woke up to our first snow fall! One of many snowfalls heading our way says the weather forecasts! Since this is the first snowfall, I thought I would try and capture the yard at the same time as the snow is falling!
Are we ready for winter or are we in denial that winter is coming? Hmmm yes maybe! Lets face it, this year here in Prince George we really didn't have much of a 'summer'! I must admit it was rather wet. Yes, we may have had a hot day or two now and then. And since we are determined and strong, we enjoyed what ever kind of weather Mother Nature threw at us!
Sunflower frosted in snow
The last man standing or rather sunflower! The other 3 were sadly brought down by delicate white fluffy snow!

As we sometimes say.... This is typical Prince George, BC Canada weather!
As mom's we always make sure that the Hallowe'en costumes will fit over the snowsuits! Welcome to Canada eh!
Thank you, keep warm, stay healthy!

" Do you wanna build a snow man! Heck no.. I wanna build a sand castle on a hot sunny beach!"
The first day of snow.. Are we ready… mmm for the most part but there remain a few things left to do on the list. Unfortunately the sunflowers id not last long enough to seed, maybe next year. For now they will remain as is as a reminder of Spring. The winter solstice is Monday, December 21, 2020. This is the astronomical first day of winter in the Northern Hemisphere and the shortest day of the year. Yeah? I think there has been a mistake. I think Winter is coming, apparently with a vengeance. Traditionally in our town, 0the snowy period of the year lasts for 5.7 months, from October 14 to April 3. Guess we are on track. Time to find the shovels, brushes and gloves…
