Day 92

Social Distancing #13

To day is April Fools Day, yes, today is April 1st, 2020! Was I thinking that at the stroke of midnight we would start a new month? Would we actually have spring and virtually no snow left on the ground?  Like magic the temperatures would be warmer and I can finally put away my winter coat and all the bits that go with it?
Am I the fool on this first day of April? A new month starts with a hope of new beginnings? I am the fool..and so this fool...will just have to be patient and wait.

April 1st 2020

We are doing fine and remaining hopeful. We are looking forward to the arrival of spring and being able to enjoy our yard and putter in the gardens while we are Social Distancing ourselves from the world around us.

Take care all!

See you again very soon!

  1. The name “April” is said to derived from the Latin word “aperit” meaning to open (also believed to be named after the Greek Goddess Aphrodite) and is considered to be the month where the trees and blossoms “open” to start the new year. Although the true originals of April Fool’s day remain shrouded in mystery and likely lost in history there are a number of theories about its origin. April Fool’s day is celebrated by different cultures around the world for centuries (according to some) and yet we truly do not know why. Perhaps because people need a day where they can play friendly jokes and create some laughter. There is nothing more irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humour, a good laugh can heal a lot of hurt.
