On Our Frozen Pond

Day 291

Our frozen pond looks more like a frozen leaf fossil this morning.

The ice is clear and you can see the leaves frozen in time.  Life has stopped for a time, holding everything still,  until the spring weather warms up the pond.

On Frozen Pond

Frozen Reflection

Looking at these photographs of our frozen pond, sometimes, I do wish I was a poet...Maybe the photograph is the poem, the story?

Until tomorrow!

Thank you!

  1. The first measurable snow fall for 2020 will be October 18/19. It stared on the 18th in the afternoon and continues to snow. The snow shovels are at the ready. When it snows some get annoyed with the chores associated with it, but really, you have two choices: shovel or make snow angels. We tend to do both. To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake, it is necessary to stand out in the cold, of course this gives greater appreciation for a warm fire and beverage. Why focus on the negative when we can throw on our snow boots and go out to enjoy the beautiful snowy weather. There's just something beautiful about walking in snow that nobody else has walked on. Be a child for a moment and enjoy.
