Orange

 Day 287

In the fall one of the prominent colours you see around you is Orange, orange leaves, pumpkins, flowers, sweaters, knitted wool socks.

Sitting in front of the fire place, I am watching the dancing flames. I see many shades of orange and yellow.

As I was adding more wood, I tried my hand at photographing a flame from a match stick using my macro lens.

Strike the match

Watching the match

I like how the match stick is starting to curl, and the orange bokeh in the background from the fire place. Can you feel the warmth now!

Time to add another log on the fire.... keep warm everyone!

Until tomorrow

"Peiskos (n) The feeling you get when you sit in front of a fireplace and enjoy its warmth."

  1. There is something mesmerizing about staring at the open fire or watching the flicker of candle light as it dancing on the walls. There is a special kind of warmth; a radiating coziness that creates a hominess and calmness. The Humming of the burning wood and crackling sound is so relaxing it is easy to drift off into your own personal space. I have spent a number of weekends each year replenishing the wood stack so I can enjoy the warmth of a fire in the house over winter months. When adding some wood to the fireplace I can feel a calming effect on my body and mind. When the world feels cold, kindle the fire and soak in it radiant warmth.
