Glasses

Day 18

Today is Saturday, the weekend has arrived and I like to start the weekend with a glass of wine.

Looking at life through Rose colored wine glasses!  I don't mind, red or white colored glasses as well! To sit and relax with glass in hand, what a way to enjoy life!

Paint

Day 17

We paint on canvas, we paint fences, inside a house, outside a house and many more items.
I paint Rocks.. yes Rocks.
I started a couple of years ago, painting rocks. I paint what ever inspires me, and it also depends on the shape and surface features of the rock/stone.

I do not claim to be an Artist, that title belongs to my cousin and to my daughter in law..they have earned that title. I am a dabbler.. and I have fun!

I paint stones on one side and the other side I write a short quote. Then once I have seal coated the stone. I walk around town, parks, trails and hide the stone for others to find.
They say, that you are to take a photo of the stone and post it on a Face Book site... then you have the choice to re hide the stone or keep it for yourself.I don't paint rocks for recognition, I do it to hopefully make someone else smile.

This one particular stone I hid at our local park. A young boy found the stone and gave it to his mother. She was having a rough week... and that stone with the quote helped her .... she posted the photo and her reaction... and for me .. getting a reaction from something I created whether its painting stones, knitting, sewing, taking a photo or cooking up a storm in the kitchen... if it has created an emotion any emotion from you.... it was all worth it.

Paint

While it freezes and snows here, I will continue to paint my rock collection... and you never know, I may be hiding a few in your neighborhood!!

See you tomorrow!

Day 16

Guess, can you Guess?

Today is Thursday, to tell you the truth, taking a picture for today's thoughtful and terrific challenge, was a trial for me.

Today's challenge, I will share with you...its tricky, its tantalizing,  its thrilling (maybe) and some objects are tiny.

Take a careful thorough glance and this picture and can you tell me the name of this photo?

Name this photo

Today's tremendous challenge was called.....

Fire and Ice

Day 15

It is another record breaking beautiful winter day here in Prince George BC, Canada! It was -37c when I got out of my warm toasty bed!

Today's photo challenge is Fire and Ice! I wasn't too clever at creating a photograph in one shot, one picture! As a treat for today, I will be posting 2 photos for you to enjoy!

Fire, in the wood stove is crackling, reminding me of summer evenings when the camp fire is lite, hot dogs roasting, or the delicious taste of s'mores!  So, with coffee and knitting in hand, that is where I shall spend some time! Keeping the home fires burning!

Ice, all over Facebook people are posting water experiments. One is by tossing water into the air and it comes down as frozen water droplets like snow.
The other is soap bubbles. Making a solution of water, soap, sugar and blowing bubbles in -30c temperatures. *See recipe below

I did the soap bubbles. You need a partner to help you to blow bubbles. I found trying to do it on my own, keeping camera dry, warm and fingers warm and dry  a challenge. So, I adapted my experiment.
As my fire is blazing away, these soap bubbles froze in seconds... telling me to get back inside!

Fire

Can you feel the warmth!! The sound of the crackling wood!

Ice (Bubbles)
Frozen...

I shall be staying warm, and planning my photo for tomorrow!

Winter Frost

Day 14

Good Day! or is it? Its winter, and its cold, very cold. We woke to -36c weather. Out side in the sunlight you can see frost crystals floating. Everything is frosted like sugar. Jack Frost made his appearance and everything is covered with Hoar Frost.

Winter can be frustratingly cold.. when you just can't warm up, when your muscles hurt from shoveling the snow, and everything is frozen including your vehicle!

These 5 photos are all titled
"Winter Frost"

The top 3 photos were taken in the front yard using my 60mm macro lens. The last 2 were taken in the backyard at our Gazebo using my 55-250mm lens then I cropped the photos.

On the positive, Everything that is covered with this frost, sparkles in the sunlight!
Another Plus is.... right now it is not snowing...and in a few months it will be spring!

 Enjoy the photos.

See you tomorrow!

Enjoying Life One Sip at a Time! Today it will be something hot!

Art Work

Day 13

I opened the back door this morning, and on the window of the screen door was Jack Frosts Work of Art.
With this cold temperature he loves to paint/frost up the windows... any window or smooth surface Jack can find. Like the side mirrors of my car, my windshield, the door handles on my car.
He is a very clever artist. You know he is around when the temperatures drop,  you don't see him but, he leaves you with his work of Art.

Art Work

What do you see when you look at Jack Frost Art Work?

What will he paint tomorrow?

See you then!

Care

Day 12

Definition of caring: feeling or showing concern for or kindness to others. A person who is concerned about others and does kind things for them.

A story

Yesterday, we were at the grocery story doing the usual shop. Since the temperatures are dropping down we thought to get this done as soon as we could.
While we were waiting for our turn to pay, we notice this 'young' lady. She didn't have money for what ever reason to purchase her meager groceries. This 'young' lady, was going to walk home (having no money for a taxi) with her walker, which she said was an hours walk. The weather was very cold, -13c with a Wind Chill of -22c. She was wearing a hat that barely covered her ears, and nothing on her hands!

There were caring people who not only offered to sit and wait with her, but purchased a few of her groceries, gave her gloves, and a warm safe ride home.
She had tears glistening in her eyes, and said there are angels, guardian angles looking out for her. She also told this couple she was to be a Great-Great-Grandmother.
These people, did this caring act of kindness, not for Face Book recognition, not just because its cold, or because she is one of our treasured seniors, because that is just what you do. You look out for each other.
It doesn't matter whether its Christmas or not, very hot or very cold temperatures... we all need to care.. we all need to be that Guardian Angel.
Can you imagine if everyone did something kind, at no cost each day!

Care (fun with editing)

This photo is a selfie I took with Mao, our cat. He and I have known each other for about 5 years now. He looks after us, he cares for us...and we him.

Enjoying Life, One Sip at a Time!

We all should be that Guardian Angel!

See you tomorrow!
