Architecture; My Town

Day 67

Wood Innovation and Design Centre, in downtown Prince George! This eight story building with mezzanine plus penthouse stands 29.5m tall. At the time of completion it was the world;s tallest modern all-timber structure serving as a benchmark to be broken by other mass timber buildings in the works.

I took several photos with my Canon 7d camera with my 24mm lens. Then I tried out my cell phone!

When my daughter Tracey and I were in Disneyland Dec. just before  Christmas'19.
I was trying to take a photo with Tracey and my grand daughter in front of Disney's huge Christmas tree, when another guest taught us a trick with our cell phones.

 Here is the trick;

Open your cell to camera, and use Pano. A cool tool to use when taking large landscape photos.
Now flip your phone side ways with the arrow going up! Hit the shutter button and slowly move your phone upwards the arrow will  move and once you reach the top of the Christmas Tree, building, statue, mountain etc. hit the shutter button once more.. then check your photo. Have fun!!

I was going to change my lens, cross the busy street. I do like how the photo turned out using the Pano on my cell phone!

Thank you for taking a look at today's blog!

See you very soon!

Something about Me

Day 66

Today I received a birthday greeting from one of my brothers. It included a song from the Beatles! "When I am 64"
I had a good chuckled and then I have come to realize.... Something about Me...                 I am 64!

When I first heard that song from The Beatles,  I had thought WOW!! 64 that is so old and years and years from now.

Here I am today and the question is....

Will you still need me, will you still feed me when I'm 64!

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (1967)

I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride
Doing the garden, digging the weeds
Who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
 when I'm sixty four?

Paul McCartney wrote the song in 1966, which puts me at 10 years old.

My Happy Place

Day 65

My happy place for me,
can only be the sea.
A glass of wine in hand
one for you and one for me.
Maybe the happy place for me you see
 to be near a fire,
where you and I can retire.
There is a happy place for me,
sitting next to you near the pond
we are so fond.
With yarn in  hand,
to make something grand.
My happy place for me,
is to say Goodbye as we fly
to places far and near.
To watch the sun set
in different lands,
as we taste their beers.
My happy place for me you see,
is relaxing in my chair
reading a book,
a cup of tea,
 with no cares.
Knowing you are near.

My Happy Place

My happy place for me you see,
as long as we're together.
Happy just to be.

Looking Up

Day 64

Today I was walking around Hudson's Bay Wetland Nature Park, when I had noticed 2 ducks in the water.  Just as I reached the viewing deck, the ducks flew away! I was not ready! It would of been a great photo.... I was in the right spot this time! They were amazing!

Looking up, I  could hear a jet coming into our airport.. no photo.. trees in the way! Some crows flew past, too high up for me to focus.

As I was walking back to my car, I took a couple of photos of the park. Still frozen, a bit of water and no signs of spring... yet.

Looking Up
Looking up sometimes you see something simple as the clouds as they are rolling past.

I will see you all again tomorrow!

Crystal

Day 63

The neck on which diamonds might have worthily sparkled,
will look less tempting when the biting
winter has hung icicles there for gems.

Soft

Day 62

Photography is often about the pursuit of sharpness. Not every picture has to be pin sharp. A soft image refers to an image that is not sharp and crisp.

Soft focus is a deliberate slight blurring or lack of definition in a photograph, and can be associated with 'Romantic' shots/portraits. Creating a soft focus photo can be a dreamy way of looking nature, such as plants, flowers.

Entry way

Day 61

Two hikers followed a path that lead to a grove of several species of trees, from spruce, pine, cedar to cottonwoods. The hikers were admiring these majestic beauties when they noticed an opening in the trees.  A tunnel lighted by the sun. The two hikers were curious, they were wondering what they would find.

Would they be entering into a mystical land where fairies fly from frosty branch to frosty branch, the elves having discussions with the birds and squirrels.
Or...
Would they be entering a winter wonderland of ice castles, penguins, including walking and talking snow people.
Or..
Would they see a castle, surrounded by a forest similar to the  Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany?

Entry way

The lighted snow tunnel welcomes you in....

Thank you for taking a look!

See you soon!
