Measurements

Day 11

It is not  uncommon to have record breaking snow falls in our area. I am not aware if we did break any records in the past 24/48 hours. My muscles in my arms and lower back say otherwise!

Measurement 12 inch/30cm Ruler

I know some people who record the weather daily. You give them a date, and they will share with you the weather.
I am not such a person.

I thought that I would share my visual record of the snow fall from the past month here in Prince George BC.

Measurement of snow

When it comes to snow, we all have 2 choices... to shovel snow or make snow angels!

Enjoy life, one sip of Coffee with Baileys at a time!

View from my back door

Day 10

We are looking out my back door, onto a very snowy deck!
In the snow fall can you see the ghosts of summer past.
The family and friends relaxing in the yard
 with food and beverages
The summer flowers and tomatoes growing in the pots.
Humming birds flying to the feeders, raspberries ready
to be picked.
Solar lites creating summer night magic in the yard.
Warm breezes and mosquitoes, with birds singing in the trees..
 Can you see it?
What do I see??
I see the snow I need to shovel!

View out the back door

I will head out to shovel, with a cup of hot chocolate in hand. And maybe during winter, you will find a snow angel or two in the backyard!

Have a wonderful day, enjoying life one sip (of hot cocoa) at a time!

Thank you for taking a look!

Snowflakes -- Macro Lens

Day 9

A snowflake is a single ice crystal that may amalgamate with others, then falls through the Earth's atmosphere as snow. Snow crystals are not frozen raindrops that is called Sleet.

Can you visualize this lady outdoors in her bathrobe, camera in hand looking through her lens at the snowflakes in her yard.

Just amazing to see these tiny crystals, each one different.
Then, I look around to see what one tiny snow crystal has created.

Have a wonderful day, enjoy the small things that make you smile!

Our Front Door

Day 8

Welcome to our home!
There is always a hot cup of coffee for you, or maybe even a glass of something special.
Come in, relax, and sit with us by the fire and take that winter chill off,
or let's go out on the deck and enjoy the summer sunset.
Please tell us some stories of your adventures, because we may have a few tales of our own.
Do not worry, while you're behind our front door, time stands still.
Come in and sit a spell.

Macro

Day  7

Anthurium

There are about 1000 species of this plant! They typically grow in Tropical Rain Forest Countries. We are fortunate to have this exotic plant as a house plant!  This plant is also called Flamingo Lily, Painted Tongue, Tail Flower.

The Red, heart-shaped flower of Anthuriums is really the spathe or a waxy, modified leaf flaring out from the base of a fleshy spike(spadix) where the tiny real flowers grow!

I have a 60 mm macro lens which I used for my photo challenge today. I was wanting to get a closer look of the spadix and get a Macro photo of the Tiny flowers!

Coffee or Tea Cup

Day 6

Do we have a fave tea or coffee cup? Yes, I think I do... its the one I always reach. It makes me smile inside, because it is a cup I had purchased on a holiday..or its a gift from someone.

No different with this travel mug, very special and unique! A gift!

Coffee or Tea Cup

This photo was taken at Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park, Heritage Trail.
The park was quiet, coffee was hot and delicious, and the view even on a cloudy day was amazing!

A Favorite Thing

Day 5

Chocolate

When I read the title to my newest photo challenge, the first thing that come into my head was Chocolate!
I have many many favorite things, just depend on the time of day, week, month and what specifically we are talking about. I am sure I will be doing a photo shoot on several of my favorite things!

I have tasted chocolate from France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, North America! I love dark, milk and white and everything in between. I can't pass by a shop with chocolate! There is something to be said about chocolate and how it melts as I slowly savor that dark chocolatey goodness!

Favorite Thing..... Chocolate

A piece of chocolate with a nice cup of coffee or tea in the afternoon, keeps a smile in my heart.. well one of the things that keep my heart smiling!

Thank you for checking out my blog!
Have a wonderful day!

See you tomorrow!
