A quick Visit

 Day 341

This morning while we were enjoying our Sunday Morning coffee we had a Red Headed Woodpecker come and check out the feeder situation!

It was a good thing I had the 75-300mm lens still on my camera.

Red Headed Wood Pecker

He didn't seem to like what was offered for food, and he left as quickly as he arrived!

The Woodpecker Meaning;

Encourages you to strike a balance between being kind and being cautious. It symbolizes the need to understand different rhythms, patterns, and cycles, and to do your best to adapt to them and flourish. It represents warnings and prophecies and the need to be connected with the earth.

Thank you for taking a peek at today's photo challenge!

City Sidewalk

Day 340

My mother when she was a child had a doll house that only came out to play during Christmas. This doll house even came with a Christmas tree with electric lights.

I guess I am doing something similar, setting up my Christmas Village. Placing its citizens in situations around town.

Snowy City Sidewalk

My village has a pub, school house, train station, toy store, shops, post office, fire station,a wishing well to make a wish, a park with a gazebo just to name a few! There is even a Santa waiting for children to come to visit him!

City Sidewalk at Christmas time

When Christmas is over, everything will be put safely away until next year when the citizens of Peddeville in Thow county will be happy to see each other again!

I used my cell phone to take these photos and I added the snow with an app on my phone for that Christmas Winter effect!

Thank you for taking a peek!

Until tomorrow

Clouds in the Morning

Day 339

While I was waiting for my first cup of coffee to be made, I checked out today's weather. Another gorgeous sunrise.

So, I dashed off outside with my camera, Roberts crocs, and no coffee! I know this sunrise wouldn't last very long, so I had to get busy and creative.

Clouds in the Morning

For one minute, walk outside, stand there, in silence, look up at the sky and contemplate how amazing life is!

Morning Clouds in the background

The sunrise gave us some glorious colours and then the clouds took over and was remained cloudy all day.

Thank you for taking a look at today's photo challenge.

Until tomorrow

Handmade Gift

Day 336

I always think that receiving a handcrafted, handmade, home baked gifts always came from the heart.

I think one of my favorite home crafted gifts I received was the colouring book my children had made for me. They drew the pages for me to colour, they stapled the pages together and it even came crayons. This book was placed in a box and it was gift wrapped! I will always remember the look on those 5 faces as I opened this gift!

 Day 314 ~ 334

Hello Everyone, I have returned home safe and sound from my Anti Lock down visit with my family.

I think this trip may have been selfish* on my part. I wanted to see the grand children before Christmas. I did this trip for me... to help with my own inner happiness and a moral boost!

(I did feel like a naughty child sneaking out like this.)

Day 314

Happiness is.... Flying off to visit family
In security at the Prince George Airport the first step to Grandma's Anti Lock down visit.

Day 315

Nanaimo BC

Donnie and Audrey woke up to Grandma Julie at their house. What a wonderful surprise! The day started with delicious coffee and breakfast prepared by my 10 year old grand son. We then walked to Departure Bay Beach to roam the beach.

While we were at Departure Bay Beach

Audrey had a crow visitor... I think the crow was wishing  for a tasty treat from Audrey!

Day 316

It was a rainy day here in Nanaimo. While the kids were in school, we had a coffee and an inside day. I am glad I not only brought a book to read, but, my knitting needles too! My daughter in law Grace made the mug for Kennley, and I made up the mittens!

Hand crafted for Kennley

Day 317

Beach Estates Park ~ Not far from Nathan and Graces house, is this beautiful park. I have walked the park before in the spring time. I love to walk in this park in the fall/winter after a rain... at every turn I was taking a photo! The park opens up to the Departure Bay which is where the ferry terminal happens to be.

Day 324

Auntie Caitlin and Kennley face time chat

One of the things I have noticed with my grandchildren compared with my own children, is that they are growing up with video calls/ face book messenger calls, face time calls. With the help of their parents they can see us on a daily bases and when we come to visit.. we are not strangers.. not really... we are familiar... we are not just a voice.. we are a face to that voice.
