Social Distancing #9
It is the 2nd day of rain... and the snow is melting with the rain.. all is good. We have a cozy fire, food in the pantry, freezer and refrigerator.. life is grand. Thinking positive..missing my family and friends...but one keeps busy.
To warm up the house, I like to dig out a basic biscuit and scone recipe. They can be sweet or savory. The biscuits are savory, great with a stew, soup or with cheese and ham for lunch. Then I made orange scones... great to have with tea, a cup of coffee or breakfast with some fruit.

As I was looking through my baking recipe collection, my mouth started to water! Now that we are home, and not visiting family and friends... I can bake and test out some new recipes!
(I also may need to dig out my Food Photography Book one of my daughters gave me!)
Thank you for taking a look!
See you soon!

'The Secret Ingredient is Love'
To provide someone comfort is to try and reduce their feelings of stress, anxiety or fear over something in their lives. For many this is a physical effort, providing a hug or a quiet conversation while holding hands. Unfortunately this is not the time for physically comforting another. To find and share comfort one can always turn to food. Comfort food usually provides some nostalgic or is sentimental to someone and can be characterised by its simple preparation. It is often high in calories, high in sugar and likely high in carbohydrates, but ooh .. the memories and taste are wonderful.
