A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight

Gone away is the bluebird
Here to stay in a new bird
He sings a love song as we go along

Carols were first sung in Europe thousands of years ago, but these were not Christmas Carol as we know them today. Many of today's most popular carols are dignified 19th-century offerings with tuneful melodies, rich harmonies and Christmassy sounds abundant. In its earliest days, wassailing involved people going house to house giving out well wishes during the colder months. The most popular carol is “O Holy Night” followed closely by “Silent Night”.
