Stripes

Day 342

This time of year you can see red and green stripes in all sorts of gift wrap, home decor, clothing... anything you can imagine for Christmas.

I wanted to a close up photo of Candy Canes. (They come in all sorts of flavors and colours!

Stripes ~ Candy Canes

I am like my traditional white, red, green striped peppermint flavored Candy Canes!

Close up, Candy Cane, Stripes

Eating Candy Canes, using them for a stir stick to stir your hot chocolate, hanging them on the tree, tucking them in gifts/stockings. Candy Canes, a little bit of Christmas Cheer!

Until tomorrow

Have a great evening!

  1. Legend has it that the candy cane dates back to 1670, when the choirmaster at the Cologne Cathedral in Germany handed out sugar sticks among his young singers to keep them quiet during the Living Creche ceremony, In honor of the occasion, the choir master bent the candies into shepherds' crooks. Although there is no confirmation of this story it is certainly more entertaining than the documented originator in the United States around 1920. Candy canes are the number one selling non-chocolate candy during the month of December. No matter the story they are a sweet treat this time of year.
