Still Life

Day 42

Still Life; a painting or drawing of an arrangement of objects.
Is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject  matter, typically commonplace objects which are either natural (food, flowers, dead animals!,plants, rocks, shell, etc) or man-made (drinking glasses, books, vases, jewelry, coins, pipes etc)

Instead of collecting a bunch of unique objects around the house to create a "Still Life" photo, I had created a "Still Life" photograph that tells you a little story about me.

This photo needs a better title, so, If you have an idea, let me know!

2 photos one B&W one Color

Day 41
What do you think of Black and White Photography? I remember when our dad would have the roll of film developed, and we got the chance to see our photographs! It was always a surprise! They told the story of when and where and who! Those photos are treasured items. They tell a story of time and place, before computers, digital cameras and cell phones.

Today, Black and White photos are used in so many different areas..from announcing the birth of the new baby right to weddings and as an Art form.

Here is the color photo.....

Here is the same photo but in Black & White

Lazy Sunday

Day 40

Happy Sunday to you!

When my kids were little, Sunday's was a family day. We would be working on projects around the house and yard. There were chores to be done. When the Pedde Fleet were in school, it was making sure homework and laundry was done for the coming week.  Sunday Morning starting off with pancakes or waffles for breakfast and Sunday was a ended with a delicious family dinner and the hope for dessert! (or a hot dog roast up at Uncle Harry's! place! a family friend!)
If you wanted to connect with family that was living a long distant away from us, we made those calls on Sunday's. AS that was the best time to call them.

Lazy Sunday

Sunday. A Day to refuel  your soul and be grateful for your blessings. Take a deep breath and relax. Enjoy your family, your friends, and a cup of coffee (or wine)."

Enjoying my Lazy Sunday with Knitting and cup of coffee!

Travel

Day 39

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Traveling... making a journey of some length or time aboard. Traveling outside your home, your comfort zone.

There are many different means of travel, most popular and usually the quickest is airplane travel. There are other ways to get to your destination, each one is unique and an exciting adventure in travel.

So, where would you go and how would you get there?

Travel -- Can you guess where!

Where would 'I' go? I would fly to Nanaimo BC to see two grand kids that live there. Exploring Vancouver Island is great and a must do! Another trip would be to fly to Calgary to see more grand kids.... and visiting the Rocky Mountains  which is not far away. And of course I would fly! Love flying!
Taking the Via Rail to Jasper AB, and go exploring there before taking the train back home!!
And of course Nova Scotia has captured my heart, another trip back east is on my travel list..then there is.... oh but... !!

"Don't listen to what they say, go see".... (Chinese proverb)

Me Time

Day 38

Today's photo challenge is suppose to be called Me, something about Me. Don't worry, I am not doing another selfie, .... yet.

Today was a little TLC day for me.. as women, mothers, grandmothers, care givers, partners, as humans in society we need to make sure we take care of ourselves.

When I was a young mom, it was hard to take the time to do any kind of pampering with out feeling guilty.  When I hear about people who do take time for themselves, I thought how glorious! When I did, I ended up worrying about the family at home, I did not do any shopping for me, but for my children instead.

So, today  is my TLC day, with no guilt... well maybe feeling a little guilty!

First stop a little pampering at the hair dressers, then to my favorite book store and coffee shop (a daughter manages and bakes there at the coffee shop). My first call is to head upstairs, there is a consignment shop with cute things.  You never know what treasures  you may find in a  shop like that. Next door is a Yarn shop. It was fun to imagine all the great things my knitting needles and crochet hooks could create!  ( I used my manners and didn't drool!)

After I sat with a delicious cup of coffee, a raisin scone and a Lemon Square, and watched people. Something wonderful about enjoying some quiet time surrounded by books and a cup of coffee!

Me Time!

If you are ever in downtown Prince George BC, Canada head on over to Books & Company and have a cup of coffee at Cafe Voltaire!

Good Morning

Day 37

Good Morning Everyone!  How was your morning? Where ever you are, I hope your day is wonderful!
Here in Prince George, BC/Canada; the last couple of mornings we woke up to falling snow.
It was great enjoying the the morning sun with coffee and camera in hand taking a few pictures of our back yard! Just to make life interesting, I used my lens ball!

(If I would get outta bed earlier I could go for a drive and take a few photos of a sunrise!)

Good Morning

The day started with sunshine, I needed to wear sunglasses while I was out doing some errands.
Now, the sky has clouded over with a temperature of -2c and a possibility of snow later this afternoon.

What was your weather this morning?

Well, it is time for an afternoon coffee!

Enjoy your day with One Sip at a Time!

See you very soon!

Double Exposure

Day 36

In photography, a multiple exposure is the superimposition of two or more exposures to create a single image. The exposure values may or may not be identical to each other.

In this photograph is my grand daughter Kennley, 13 months old, and to the right is ME at age 10 months old. I did not take either of these pictures but played with the double exposure.

I look at my photo ( that my dad took was the photographer of the family)
I look at myself at 10 months old, her eyes wide open for an incredible future! She doesn't know that one day she will create her own beautiful crazy family! That she can be what ever she wants to be, and go to some amazing places in the world...and best of all be a Mother &  Grandmother to a group of wonderful children! She doesn't know that she'll have love, laughter, and a life, that her heart will break and will heal.

One phrase (thank you Garth Brooks) comes to mind is.....

"I wouldn't miss this dance for the world"!

Then I look at my grand daughter...  she has the whole world at her feet... the things she can do, place she can go, the skies the limit and of course the amazing family who loves her!

Two very lucky little girls!

Grand Daughter & Grandmother-- Double Exposure

I am looking at these two little girls...looking for family resemblances... nose? Hmmmm maybe hair line? What do you think?

thank you for taking a look at my photo!
