Day 52
In about a month, give or take a day or two...we will be celebrating the first day of spring!
Right now the branches on the trees are bare. Buds are starting to form and in no time at all the trees and bushes will be bursting with blossoms, and green leaves!
While we wait patiently for spring, we walk the trails, we check the progress of the arrival of spring, and if we get the chance we watch the wild life!
Yesterday, I had said I didn't see any wild life just their footprints and tracks. Today, was a different story!

ReplyDeleteWe are fortunate in Canada and especially in British Columbia, as arguably it has the most diverse species to offer. There are many areas, within a 20 minute drive from our city, where you may spot all kinds of wildlife, perhaps even a moose. This time of year food is a bit scarce so the animals come a bit closer to human habitat leaving their tracks in the snow. As the ice retreats off the rivers and ponds the ducks are abundant seeking food and respite. Their chatter can be heard yards before you even see them.
