Day 56
While I have been on this photographic journey (my 366 day photo challenge) I have been spending a lot of time worrying about what everyone else is doing re: photography. I see them walking about the same parks and locations in town, and I wonder, "Is their photo better than mine"? Will they do a better job in the editing process? Will they get more likes?
While on my walk today, I came to realize that I will not stop taking photos! I will continue to learn about my camera. I will continue to discover/learn while trying new ideas and having fun too! I will tune out the world, focus and try that shot!
If I have created any any reaction while you are looking at my photos; from that WOW reaction, to COOL, Great Shot to MEH! Then I have created an emotion and my goal has been achieved.
Plus, I do know that the only person who needs to like this photograph is ME!
So here it is.... MY photo for today...

In the digital age, and the proliferous social media, there is no shortage of critics yet we add just one more, ourselves. Science has suggested, proven, that the brain reacts more strongly to negative input rather than positive. One of the consequences is we tend to ignore, down play successes and jump to beating ourselves up for failures. Try not guessing you will not succeed at something; only compare your life to yourself; failures happen (these are life learning lessons); and your uniqueness is a strength. Self-compassion can lead to great accomplishments more than self-criticism ever could, know the difference. We are after all “just human”.
