Day 54
My birthday is slowly approaching, and I was asked that dreaded question! (for me is a toughie to find an answer!)
Yesterday, while we were out treking in the outdoors, and sinking to our knees in snow! I found the answer to that yearly question. What do I want for my birthday?
Snowshoes for the both of us!!
Yes, my B-day is 14 days away! I didn't mind getting my gift early!
Today we tried out our New Snow shoes!!
We decided to explore a nearby park. After figuring out how to put these things on our feet. We went up hill, down hill, through the trees! While listened to the birds, introducing ourselves a local snow man! We had the park to ourselves! It was amazing!

Animals have adapted over time to the environmental conditions they live and humans watch and learn. The Snowshoe Hare is an example where its oversized feet enable it to move quickly over deep snow. Our adaptation following this concept was originally made with wood frame and rawhide strips, today’s more modern snowshoe, developed in 1972, is lighter and includes cleats on the bottom for icy conditions. One’s weight, the size of snowshoe and the condition of the snow all play a factor in your “sinking” effect. Of course we do not move like the Snowshoe Hare, they are a bit more graceful.
