Blue Winter Sky

Day 32

Blue is the sky on a sunny winter's day,
 with coffee in hand
we go out to play.

When there is snow on the ground,
I like to pretend I'm
walking on the clouds.

Self Portrait

Day 31

Today's photo shoot was suppose to be a Self Portrait. Something more than just a selfie for Snapchat or Instagram.

Today, I had decided to use my Canon Power Shot SX 530 Camera, I call "Lil Sis".   With this camera I can set it up to use the Self-Timer then I dash ahead to get a photograph of me.... this time I am also using my new toy... my Lens Ball!!

Here are a couple I took today at Paddle Wheel Park, down by The Fraser River.

I think I like the 3rd Photo the Best.. subject in the Lens ball is a lot clearer than the first picture.  A little off centre, but then you can see me in the back ground!

Thank you for taking a look, suggestions for photo shoots are welcomed!

See You again very Soon!

Reflection

Day 29

Reflection: the image of something in a mirror or any reflective surface.

It is fun to take photos at different bodies of water, from puddles, ponds, lakes, rivers. If the water is calm you can capture some great images reflecting in the water. It is difficult to do right now in the middle of winter and everything is frozen.

With out leaving the comfort of my warm house... I still wanted to do my photo challenge.

With a little research (thank you Google!) and some experimentation, I give you Reflection and a bonus Refraction!

Reflection/Refraction

It was fun moving the water glasses around and taking photos.. then picking what I think is the best capture!

How many peppers did I use for this photo?

Thank you for taking a look at today's photo!

Gold

Day 28

When someone thinks of gold, they may think of gold jewelry, gold coins, pirates treasures, or that winning gold metal in sports.

I think of our time in Vienna Austria, walking up and down the streets of Vienna, while eating pretzels and taking photos of famous, historical architectures like The
Cathedral of St. Stephan, Plague Pillar, the Hofburg, just to name a few places.

In gift shop windows and small galleries, there were many souvenirs of "The Kiss" a Painting done by the Austrian Symbolism Artist Gustav Klmit. He painted "The Kiss" in 1907-08. And his replicas, are seen everywhere! You can find post cards to coffee mugs, hand bags wallets to reprints of his work to frame and hang.

(When I came home I had to google Gustav Klmit to learn what a big deal he was in Austria)

Walking around Vienna, I found a Kiosk with hundreds of scarves of every color, design, Artist!  That is when I decided to have my own Gustav Klmit, "The Kiss". A scarf to take home and remember my trip to Vienna.

Gold               (The Kiss, by Gustav Klmit)

Checking out the tag on my scarf.. I discover that it is made in Austria! I assumed all souvenirs are made in China!

Thank you for taking a look at my photo!!

I shall see you tomorrow!

Winter Landscape

Day 27

Mother Nature and Old Man Winter love to play with the weather during the winter season. When you get these two together, you can expect biting wind chill factor temps, white out conditions, deep snow and lots of ice on the rivers.

Last winter, we could walk on the frozen river. The ice was clear as glass, and there were people who were skating on the frozen river.

Not this year!

Photo was taken at Wilson Park, here in  Prince George BC. It was interesting to see the ice being pushed up to the bank of Nechako River

Spontaneous

Day 26

Sometimes an idea for a photo of the day comes to you when you least expect it. For example, I am making my breakfast, and I look out the kitchen window and I see a frozen spider's web.

I wonder what it would look like if I used my macro lens, or took a photo of it close up. Breakfast was then put aside for a bit, while I went outside and took a few photos of last years forgotten spider web.

Spontaneous--frosted Spider Web

I find it amazing how strong this web really is, the spiders hard work creating its web withstood time, water/rain, wind, snow, shoveling the snow off the deck. Yet, here is this silk web, remnant from last season, frosted to show us the delicate detail that a spider had created.

I shall see you tomorrow!

I hope you are Enjoying Life One Sip at a Time!
