Orange

Day 3

How many people start there day off with a glass of OJ, orange juice? We all put oranges onto our grocery list. January and oranges just seem to go together.. A little bit of sunshine on our lips while watching a snow storm!

As a child, oranges were a treasured item. Receiving a mandarin orange on Christmas was such a tasty treasured sweet, that we ate them very slowly. Now they are common at the grocery store.

Google says that there are over 600 individual different types of oranges growing around the world today, a few are almost wild, while some are carefully cultivated. Google says that when it comes to cash crops however, there are only 10 types of commercial oranges.

At our local grocery store, I found Blood Oranges. I have only seen photos of them in Cook Books.

Orange

And so now the taste test!

Have a wonderful day!

See you tomorrow!

  1. The blood orange originated in Sicily and Spain. Yet it is not just the unique properties of the orange that are intriguing but the willingness to try things different. Life is full of interesting experiences and like food, they should be tasted and talked about. One can not just eat food one must also share the experience with others. Your choices are infinite so rather the procrastinate in fear of trying something new, weigh your options, revel in the chance and explore/act on the best option. No matter the age it is said “variety is the spice of life” so do not be afraid to try new things, be hungry for a “juicy life”, pull up a chair, taste it, as life is delicious and an adventure.
